Interview on RT Russian International Television on Israel-Hamas Conflict
I was interviewed on RT Russian International Television on the recent fighting between Israel and Hamas.
I explain what life is like under the threat of rockets, that Israel left Gaza in 2005 and no longer occupies it, that Israel will cease its military attacks when Hamas will stop firing, and that Israel considers carefully which targets to strike and tries to avoid civilian casualties. I explain how Hamas hides its military assets inside civilian areas, knowing that Israel will refrain from attacking.
Will this military operation keep Hamas from attacking Israel again? I explain that our strikes are meant to build deterrance and also to roll back Hamas' military capabilites.
I say that we should speak more about disproportionate intentions (offensive vs defensive) and not of capabilities.
