Speaking to Greek outlet Parapolitika on January 20, Middle East analyst and Middle East 24 co founder Dan Feferman warned that Iran is entering an increasingly dangerous phase as mass protests spread nationwide and the regime works to rebuild damaged missile and nuclear infrastructure following last summer’s 12 day conflict. Feferman said the combination of internal unrest and military recovery leaves all options on the table, including possible US or Israeli intervention, while cautioning that Tehran may attempt missile strikes or terror attacks abroad to divert attention from domestic instability. He also warned of heightened threats to American and Jewish targets worldwide from Iranian backed networks, and described Hamas calls for a long term ceasefire as a tactical pause designed to regroup rather than achieve peace.
